A SIMPLE INTRODUCTION TO SEO
In most cases, people assume that the only search engine to base the outcome of their results is that of Google.  This assumption is wrong because there are numerous search engines that are being used by foreign language countries.

Testing search engines for foreign language searches requires the experience and knowledge of natural foreign language personnel.  Using the colloquial inferences that we have in English or a machine translated reference to apply to a foreign language is completely misleading and produces incorrect results.

As an example, many websites use a variety of language codifications such as:
England

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=gb2312">

Greece

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset= iso-8859-7">

International

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">

As you can see, words have different meanings to computers.  The same applies when you create your content and use single or plural words, each are considered differently and the reason for this is that computers have that ability better than we do.

Another example is the use of accenting in foreign languages.  If you want to attract more world wide visitors, www is after all your shopping mall to the world or center of operations, then you must be ready and able to deliver your website content even if you do not do it now.
This can require the use of duplicate wording with and without the use of accent marks.

In this example, one can see what happens when keywords are capitalized, lowercase, and lowercase without accent marks:
ΗΛΕΚΤΡΟΝΙΚΟ ΕΜΠΟΡΙΟ
ηλεκτρονικό εμπόριο
ηλεκτρονικο εμποριο

Even with the present standard of utf-8, foreign languages are uniquely translated into Latin characters to phonetically represent local words.  Using the above example, that phrase translated to English literally means electronic commerce which is the equivalent to e-commerce.  After that has been submitted by an SEO friendly keyword generator it is translated to Latin as elektronikou-emporio.

Ever see an advertisement and immediately make a call or go to the store?
That is the kind of action that is the primary objective of SEO.  The fact is that even though you looked at that advertisement but you may not have really read into the words deeply enough.  In many cases, those of you who have a “must have” attitude will buy the merchandise or service right away while there are those who will question the intriguing ad to find what the “catch” is to getting such a terrific deal.

In essence, SEO is a combination of marketing and advertising that enhances your website through creativity and verifiable results.  Just like the other business sciences, SEO is in harmony with the laws of economics regarding consumers, price points, and supply and demand.

SEO, SEM, and SERP are very broad topics and I have included a variety of generalized infomation here.
