A guide to creating video
A simple guide for the creation of video for clients of do my site for use on their web site.
The following information assumes that you have:
- A video playback device
- A video capture card or usb device such as Pinnacle
- Video editing program such as Pinnacle Studio
- and time.
RECORDING VIDEO TO DISK – CAPTURE
- Connect your video source to the card. Start the program STUDIO LAUNCHER and click on 10 PINNACLE STUDIO. Choose CAPTURE. Place your video cassette in the video and press play. At the program, click on the button START CAPTURE. At the end of the video, click STOP to close the file.
TO SAVE YOUR VIDEO WORK AS A BACKUP
- To create a copy of your video work either before or after editing, you should make a copy of the video capture file.
- First, check to see how large the video capture file is using explorer.
- Normally the video capture file is saved in the pc directory or folder \Pinnacle Videos\Video on drive C or the drive that you specified.
- If the video capture file is smaller than 700MB than you can save it to a CD, otherwise use a DVD.
- You can use NERO or any other program that you have that can create a CD or DVD.
VIDEO EDITING – EDIT
- For video editing, click the STUDIO LAUNCHER and click on 10 PINNACLE STUDIO to start your program.
- You can add a title page to your video by choosing one of the preset titles and dragging it to the beginning of the timeline.
- If you double click on the title frame:
- You can change your title font by clicking once on the title and then selecting the font.
- Then you can also change the wording of the preset title to your own title.
- Select the capture file to import and once your video frames are presented you can select all the frames using CTRL-A to drag them to the timeline.
- Save your project video, titles, and effects by clicking SAVE PROJECT.
TO RECORD VIDEO WORK TO A DVD – MAKE MOVIE
- Click on MAKE MOVIE and when the red lettering appear click SETUP PROJECT PREFERENCES.
- Choose either file or disk.
- To make a DVD, click on CREATE DISK.
CLEANING UP THE DISK FILES
When the video work has finished writing your DVD, it should be verified on a separate player that it works. After that, the video and other temporary files that Pinnacle create are no longer necessary on your hard disk. They can be deleted using the Pinnacle Tools command to empty temporary files.
